Itinerary
- 🌅 Day 1: The adventure begins at 6:00 am with breakfast in Salento and transfer to Cocora. Ascent through the cloud forest bordering the Cárdenas River to the Estrella de Agua Natural Reserve (3,170 masl) for a first break. Continuation toward Finca La Primavera (3,800 masl) along a demanding section with steep slopes and mud (~15 km / 7-8 h / +1,905 m)
- 🏔️ Day 2: Departure through the moorland with views of Nevado del Tolima toward the Pantanos del Paramillo (4,200 masl). Technical 2-hour ascent on 45° sandy terrain to the summit of Paramillo del Quindío (4,750 masl) with views of the Ruiz, Santa Isabel, and Laguna del Otún glaciers. Return to Finca La Primavera at 5:30 pm (~14 km / 8-9 h / ±950 m)
- 🥾 Day 3: Country breakfast and 2-hour hike to 4,000 masl to bid farewell to the moorland. Loop descent through an alternative muddy valley with a snack at Finca La Argentina (3,470 masl) with the Los Bustos family. Arrival in Cocora, transfer to Salento, and celebratory lunch (~14 km / 6-7 h / -1,905 m)
Restrictions
- ♿ Reduced mobility: People with reduced mobility or difficulties performing demanding high-mountain treks.
- 🫀 Heart or respiratory conditions: People with heart or respiratory conditions.
- 🤰 Pregnant women: Women who are pregnant.
- 👤 Age: From 15 to 70 years old for routes, treks, and summits.
- 💊 Medical treatment: If you are undergoing medical treatment, carry your medications with you throughout the route.
- 🏔️ Physical condition: Adequate physical condition is required to walk in high mountains and face altitude changes.
- 🧑🏫 Authorized guide: Entry must be done with an authorized guide and in compliance with the conditions established by the Park.
- 🧥 Waterproof windbreaker jacket: the layer that protects you from the wind on the glacier
- 🧶 Second thermal layer: fleece or light down jacket
- 👕 Long-sleeved thermal base layer, made of synthetic material or merino wool (never cotton: it retains sweat and cools you down)
- 🩳 Quick-dry mountain pants, preferably with a waterproof layer. No jeans
- 🧦 Two pairs of thermal socks, one dry spare pair
- 🥾 Waterproof high-cut trekking boots, already broken in
- 🧤 Waterproof gloves plus a thin spare pair
- 🧢 Thermal hat that covers your ears and a buff for your neck and face
- 🕶️ Sunglasses with UV filter: on snow, radiation reflects and can cause temporary blindness
- 🧴 50+ Sunscreen and lip balm with protection
- 📱 Thermal cover for your phone: on the glacier, the cold drains the battery in minutes

💳 Payment and booking policies
- Booking: You confirm your spot with 40% of the total value by sending the receipt to this chat. Deposits are not refundable in cash.
- Balance (60%): Must be paid 10 days before the departure date, via bank transfer or cash.
- Maximum retention: Retention percentages are calculated on the total tour value, up to the maximum you have paid. If you only paid the deposit (40%), the most you can lose is that deposit.
⚠️ Cancellation and rescheduling
- Cancellation more than 45 days in advance: 30% retention of the total value. The remainder remains as a credit for a future trip.
- Cancellation between 30 and 44 days before: 30% retention + 20% penalty for logistical expenses.
- Cancellation between 11 and 29 days before: 40% retention of the total value. Since at this point you have only paid the deposit (40%), this is fully retained; there is no refund.
- Cancellation 10 days or less in advance: 100% retention. By this point, you have paid the total balance and costs with suppliers (transport, guide, insurance, permits) are committed. No refunds or rescheduling.
- Transferring a spot: You can transfer your spot to another person up to 48 hours before departure, subject to prior approval. This way, you don't lose your payment if you cannot go but someone you trust can.
- Minimum group not reached: If the minimum group size is not reached, the date will be rescheduled or 100% of the deposit will be refunded.
- Weather or force majeure: The departure will be rescheduled or a 100% credit voucher will be issued.
